Implants Mean Long-Term Savings

  • When a tooth falls out, the surrounding bone will atrophy.
  • Remaining teeth are then supported by a weakened jaw.
  • The remaining teeth then must do extra work and may shift.
  • The remaining teeth may then be lost.
  • Bridges and partials can increase your risk for tooth loss

It is no secret that missing teeth can greatly diminish your quality of life. While dentures and dental bridges can cause discomfort and require regular maintenance, dental implants provide a permanent and comfortable solution.

Factors Influencing Tooth Implant Cost

One major factor that determines the cost of dental implants is the number and type of implants needed. The cost of your procedure will vary depending on whether you are replacing one tooth, two teeth, or receiving implant supported dentures.

In addition, it is possible that other procedures will be required prior to implantation. Any of the following procedures can affect tooth implant cost:

• Bone Graft – Dental implants are attached to the jaw bone just like natural teeth, but tooth loss eventually leads to bone loss, which can present difficulties for dental implants. Replacing teeth early can reduce the risk of bone loss.

• Sinus Lift – Some patients require a sinus lift prior to receiving their dental implants.

• Gum Disease Treatment – Dental implants are most successful when placed in a healthy mouth. Because of this, gum disease treatments are sometimes necessary before implants can be placed.

• Tooth Extractions – Some procedures, such as implant supported dentures for instance, may require tooth extractions prior to implantation.

While there are a number of factors determining tooth implant cost, replacing your missing teeth early and keeping your mouth healthy can keep many of these from becoming factors. Start enjoying the benefits of a full set of teeth today.
